A New Chapter
The Context
For most of our history, releases have been the main way LADOSUR has expressed itself.
They still are — and they will remain at the core of what we do.
But the culture surrounding this music has always been much bigger than any catalogue.
It exists through the people making records, the DJs playing them, the labels taking chances on them, the promoters creating spaces for them and the communities keeping those spaces alive.
As LADOSUR grows, we want to create more room for all of that.
Looking beyond our own catalogue
This next chapter is about gradually opening LADOSUR to the culture that exists around us.
That means talking about music released by other labels. Sharing artists we believe deserve attention. Publishing conversations. Recording sets. Hosting premieres. Writing about records that stay with us.
And, eventually, exploring new formats that might not exist yet.
Not because everything needs to become LADOSUR.
But because LADOSUR can be a place where these things meet.
The first step
The first part of this new direction is VOICES.
An ongoing series of conversations with the people behind electronic music and the communities surrounding it.
Artists will naturally be part of it, including people connected to our own catalogue. But VOICES isn’t intended to be limited to LADOSUR artists.
We want to speak with DJs, producers, labels, promoters and other people whose work or perspective makes us curious.

More than an interview
We don’t want VOICES to become another place to ask artists what equipment they use or what their latest release sounds like.
Music will always be part of the conversation.
But we’re equally interested in everything around it — where people come from, what shaped them, what keeps them creating, the scenes they belong to, the people they believe deserve more attention, and their perspective on the culture they’re participating in.
Some questions will change with every guest.
Others we want to keep asking again and again.

There won’t be one correct answer. That’s precisely why we want to keep asking.
An archive in progress
Over time, we hope these conversations become something more than individual interviews.
An archive of different people, places and moments within electronic music.
A way of discovering an artist through more than a release. A way of discovering somebody else through the artists they recommend.
And a way for LADOSUR to document a small part of the culture that continues to shape us.
